This
Friday, after a long week at work I embarked on a new class at the gym. ‘Body
Pump’ is basically high intensity workout with a weights bar, you do sets of
squats, lunges, chest presses and lots of other things that I can’t remember
the name of. It aims to work all your muscle groups, and is rounded of nicely
(!!) with floor work, crunches, planks and side planks, push ups and collapsing
on the floor in tears (almost). All in all its a really good work out, and as
my upper body strength is almost non-existent a good way to kick me off. Either
way, I ended up staggering out of the class and on showering afterwards
realised that I didnt have the strength to lift my arms. Apparently this is the
sign of a good work out – I have a lot more pain to come. Writing this a day later, my thighs feel like they have been compressed, and standing up is an issue. Training has well and truely started... I have also signed myself up for another class next week.
